E-scooter driver and passenger taken to hospital following crash

Two people have been taken to hospital following an e-scooter crash in Angus.

Emergency services were called to the scene on Arbirlot Road in Arbroath around 6.25pm on Saturday evening.

The male driver of the scooter and his female passenger were both taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee for treatment.

Arbirlot Road and Emslaw Drive were both closed for a number of hours following the crash, and later reopened around 11.10pm.

Police said enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
