Four-vehicle collision closes A9 in both directions

Road users are urged to use an alternative route and expect longer than normal journey times.

A major road in Perthshire is closed in both directions after four vehicles were involved in a crash.

Around 11.15am on Wednesday morning, the collision occurred on the northbound carriageway of the A9, near the Dalguise junction at Dunkeld.

The road is closed in both directions and Traffic Scotland has urged road users to use an alternative route and expect longer than normal journey times.

Traffic is building in the area on both carriageways with some motorists reporting that they have been halted for up to 50 minutes.

It is not yet known if there are any injuries as a result of the crash.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to a crash involving four vehicles on the A9 northbound, near the Dalguise Junction, Dunkeld, at around 11.15am on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 and are currently at the scene.”
