Driver ‘may have taken ill’ in three-car crash as man, 81, taken to hospitaliStock

Police are appealing for information after an 81-year-old man was taken to hospital following a three-car crash in Alloa.

Emergency services were called to the collision around 10.35am on Thursday on Clackmannan Road involving a grey Audi Q5, a grey Peugeot and a blue Audi Q3.

An 81-year-old man was taken to Forth Valley Hospital following the crash.

Officers believe one of the drivers involved in the crash may have taken ill at the wheel.

The road was closed to allow for investigations to be carried out and reopened around 2.50pm.

Sergeant Vincent Lynch said: “We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the crash and has not already spoken to officers to come forward.

“Enquiries are ongoing into the cause of the crash, however, one line of enquiry is that one of the drivers had taken ill.

“We would ask anyone with dash-cam footage to review this and see if it has captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101, quoting incident number 1138 of November 6, 2025.
