A 73‑year‑old woman is in hospital with serious injuries following a collision involving a car and a lorry.
Police were called to the two-vehicle crash on the A980, Torphins to Banchory road, near Kennerty around 9.20am on Friday April 10.
The collision involved a red Ssangyong car and a Mercedes dropside lorry.
The driver of the car was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where her injuries are described as serious. The driver of the lorry, a 36‑year‑old man, was not injured.
The road remains closed to allow for investigation to take place.
Sergeant Sarah Ritchie, North East Road Policing Unit, said: “I’d like to thank members of the public who stopped to assist at the scene.
“Our enquiries remain ongoing to establish the full circumstances and I’d ask anyone who witnessed the collision or has dash-cam footage which may assist, to contact us on 101 quoting incident number 0819 of 10 April, 2026.”
