Driver, 71, in hospital after losing control of car and rolling down embankment

The driver of the car appeared to lose control of the vehicle causing it to leave the road and roll down an embankment.

Police have appealed for witnesses after a single-car crash on the M876 near Kincardine.

A white Nissan Micra was travelling eastbound on the road near the Bowtrees junction when it appeared to lose control.

The car then left the road and rolled down an embankment.

Emergency services were called to the scene, and a 71-year-old man was taken to Forth Valley Hospital.

His condition has been described as stable.

Investigations so far have found that a black Kia car was on the road around the time of the incident and officers are appealing to the occupants of the vehicle to come forward.

Constable Johnathan Inglis said: “Our enquires into this collision are ongoing and we would urge anyone who may have information or who saw the crash to contact us. I would also be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area. Your images could assist in our ongoing enquiries.”

Anyone with information is asked to call Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident number 1417 of October 27, 2024.
