A dog has been put down after a man was taken to hospital following an attack in a home in Angus. 

Emergency services were called to a report of a man injured by a dog at a property in Forfar Road in Kirriemuir around 5.30pm on Friday.

The man was taken to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee following the incident.

His condition is unknown. It is understood the dog involved in the incident was euthanised.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 5.30pm on Friday, December 12, 2025 we were called to a report of a man injured by a dog at a property in Forfar Road, Kirriemuir.

“Emergency services attended and the man was taken to Ninewells Hospital for treatment.”
