A dog has died following a motorcycle hit and run in Dundee, with police looking to trace the rider.

The incident took place on the Dighty Burn path, near Balunie Drive, at around 3pm on Saturday.

The dog, a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, was killed at the scene. Police said the owner, who was walking their dog at the time, has been “traumatised” by the incident.

The biker, who was riding an off-road bike, has been described as wearing dark clothing and a helmet.

Constable Matthew Boath said: “This was understandably a traumatic incident for the owner, who was out walking their dog at the time.

“We are asking for anyone with information, or who may have seen the off-road bike and its rider in the area, to please come forward.

“You can call police on 101, quoting incident 2187 of August 19.”
