A dog has died and a man is seriously injured in hospital after a car was driven into a park in Aberdeen.
Police were called to reports of a car in Eric Hendrie Park on Deveron Road and a disturbance taking place around 8.30pm on Sunday.
STV NewsA 51-year-old man attended Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the incident, where his condition is described as serious.
An XL Bully dog belonging to the man died as a result of the disturbance.
STV NewsPolice are treating the incident as attempted murder, and investigations are ongoing to trace everyone involved.
Detective sergeant Emma Low said: “Our investigation is at an early stage to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident.
“Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact officers through 101, quoting incident number 3236 of July 27, 2025. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
