XL Bully dead and man in hospital after car driven into park in murder bid

A 51-year-old man suffered serious injuries and a dog was pronounced dead following an attempted murder on Sunday.

A dog has died and a man is seriously injured in hospital after a car was driven into a park in Aberdeen.

Police were called to reports of a car in Eric Hendrie Park on Deveron Road and a disturbance taking place around 8.30pm on Sunday.

A 51-year-old man attended Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following the incident, where his condition is described as serious.

An XL Bully dog belonging to the man died as a result of the disturbance.

Police are treating the incident as attempted murder, and investigations are ongoing to trace everyone involved.

Detective sergeant Emma Low said: “Our investigation is at an early stage to establish the exact circumstances surrounding this incident.

“Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to contact officers through 101, quoting incident number 3236 of July 27, 2025. Alternatively, Crimestoppers can be contacted on 0800 555 111, where anonymity can be maintained.”
