The death of a woman whose body was found in an Aberdeen home has been ruled ‘not suspicious’ by police.

The woman’s body was discovered within a property in Allison Close, Cove, on February 25.

STV News understands that the woman may have been dead for a while.

Police have since been attempting to piece together a timeline over when the death happened and when the body was discovered.

On Thursday, a Police Scotland spokesman said her death was not being treated as suspicious, however enquiries into the circumstances of the incident remain ongoing.

He said: “Enquiries have been concluded and the death is not being treated as suspicious.

“Enquiries into the circumstances of the incident are continuing.”

Following the initial discovery, local councillor Alex Nicoll told STV News: “This is very, very sad and my sympathies go out to the family and friends of this lady.

“It is a terribly difficult time and my thoughts are with them.”
