The death of a missing Merseyside man whose body was found near the A90 in Aberdeenshire is not being treated as suspicious.

Kenneth Unsworth was reported missing on November 20, having been last seen leaving the town of Huyton near Liverpool.

Officers were alerted to the discovery of a body near the dual carriageway between Brechin and Laurencekirk at around 12.20pm on November 26.

Police Scotland has confirmed the death is not suspicious, and a report has been forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 12.20pm on Wednesday, November 26, 2025, the body of a man was found off the A90 between Brechin and Laurencekirk.

“He was formally identified as 46-year-old Kenneth Unsworth, who had been reported missing from the Merseyside area.

“There are no suspicious circumstances surrounding the death and a report was forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.”
