Death of man near roundabout treated as 'unexplained'

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances after the discovery of the 65-year-old's body in Aberdeen on Saturday evening.

A man has been found dead in the street near Aberdeen city centre.

Police Scotland say they are treating the death of the 65-year-old, who was discovered in Roslin Street, as “unexplained”.

Officers cordoned off an area near a roundabout for several hours after blocking off the scene at around 6pm on Saturday evening.

An initial investigation was carried out, but the death is not thought to be suspicious.

A report has been sent to the procurator fiscal.

“We were made aware of the sudden death of a 65-year-old man on Roslin Street in Aberdeen at around 5.55pm on Saturday, August 5,” a spokesperson for the force said.

“The death is being treated as unexplained but there are no apparent suspicious circumstances.”
