A cyclist has suffered life-threatening injuries following a crash with a car in Aberdeenshire.
Emergency services were called to Summerfield Place in Inverallochy around 7.50am on Wednesday to reports of a crash involving a cyclist and a white Mazda CX-30 car.
The cyclist, a 51-year-old man, was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, where his condition is described as life-threatening.
The driver of the Mazda, a 37-year-old woman, was not injured. She was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and released pending further enquiries.
The road was closed for crash investigation work and reopened around 4.50pm.
Sergeant Sarah Ritchie said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and we are appealing for anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.
“We are also asking members of the public to check any private CCTV they have to see if something has been captured that could assist with our investigation, and for drivers to make contact if they have dash-cam footage.”
