Missing elderly woman thought to have travelled to Isle of Arran traced

An elderly woman who was missing from her home in Carnoustie for more than 24 hours has been traced.

Marjorie Smith was last seen in the Woodside Terrace area at around 10.15am on Wednesday.

Following enquiries, she was believed to have got off a ferry on the Isle of Arran around 1.50pm on Thursday.

The 84-year-old usually walks with a red three-wheeled walking aid with a seat attached.

Members of the public have been thanked for their assistance.
