A car “deliberately” set on fire on the A92 in Aberdeen had been stolen.

Officers were called to reports of a car on fire off the northbound carriageway on Stonehaven Road at around 8.55pm on Wednesday.

Police established the vehicle had been stolen from the Cults area.

The fire is being treated as “wilful” and enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 8.55pm on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, police received a report of a car on fire off the northbound carriageway on Stonehaven Road, Aberdeen.

“The fire is being treated as wilful and it has been established the vehicle had been stolen from the Cults area.

“Enquiries are ongoing.”
