Train services between Dunkeld and Perth faced major disruption after a car was crashed onto the tracks.
Emergency services were called to a red car on the track near Murthly Sawmill, south of Dunkeld, on Thursday morning.
Network Rail was forced to close the line between Perth and Dunkeld & Birnam around 5.20am while the vehicle’s recovery was arranged.
Police Scotland were called in to close the road above temporarily while a crane was brought in to winch the vehicle off the tracks.
The car was eventually removed around 9.30am, and track inspections were carried out with no damage found.
The Highland Main Line was expected to open at 10am once the team were safely off the tracks.
