A number of cannabis farms worth almost £2m have been uncovered amid raids in Aberdeen.
The cultivations were found by officers within homes on Elmbank Terrace, Bothwell Road and Broomhill Road on Wednesday.
The estimated value of the drugs seized is over £1.8m, while a five-figure sum of cash was recovered.
Three men, aged 30, 31 and 43, have been arrested and charged in connection with the discoveries.
They are due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday.
Detective Constable Blair Ramage said: “This significant recovery highlights our commitment to tackling illegal drugs in our communities.
“We are determined to protect the public from this harmful criminality by disrupting the drugs trade and preventing them being circulated on the streets of Scotland.
“This substantial seizure underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country’s Serious Organised Crime Strategy.
“Information from the public is vital. We would ask anyone with information or concerns about drugs in the community or a property in their area, possibly being used for this purpose, to contact us. We would also urge landlords in the private rental sector to make sure they carry out thorough checks on prospective tenants. Be particularly aware of tenants who are willing to pay in cash and make regular checks on your property.”
Those with information are urged to contact Police Scotland on 101. Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
