Campervan stolen during spate of break-ins across residential area

A campervan has been stolen following a spate of break-ins across a residential area in Montrose.

Officers received reports that a silver Fiat Ducato from Melville Gardens had been stolen between 9pm on May 26 and 8am on May 27.

Police said that in addition to the stolen campervan, they had received reports of five vehicles in the surrounding streets being broken into within the same timeframe.

The campervan was recovered on Warddykes Road in Arbroath.

The force is now urging anyone with information regarding the theft and break-ins to come forward.

Constable Fullerton said: “We are appealing to anyone with any information on the thefts and vehicle break-ins to please come forward.

“We are particularly keen to speak with any local residents around Melville Gardens in Montrose or Warddykes Road in Arbroath, who witnessed any suspicious activity in recent days.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland via 101, quoting incident 0561 of May 27, 2024. Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111, where information can be given anonymously.”
