A boy has been charged after a social media video of a man being attacked in Aberdeen was shared online.
The footage, shared across various platforms, showed a man being punched repeatedly and tripped up in the Back Wynd area of the city.
Police officers have since traced both of the individuals involved in the incident. The man did not require any hospital treatment.
A male youth was charged in connection with assault and is due to be reported to the relevant authorities.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “A male youth has been charged in connection with an assault in Aberdeen.
“Following a number of social media posts showing a man being assaulted in the Back Wynd area of Aberdeen on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, officers from the Community Action Team have traced those involved.
“The man who was assaulted did not require hospital treatment. The male youth will be reported to the relevant authorities.”
