Bomb squads were called to an RAF base in Moray after a “suspicious package” was found.
RAF Lossiemouth confirmed a cordon was put in place around its base on Thursday after the package was found during a routine security search.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal were notified, and members of the public asked to avoid the area.
Police Scotland confirmed nearby properties were evacuated as a precaution.
STV NewsThe RAF confirmed later on Thursday the incident had ended and that the suspicious package contained “nothing of concern” and was removed.
Road closures were put in place on the B9135 and the A9135, but have since reopened.
