The body of a decomposed terrier-type dog was found in a park in Aberdeen.
The Scottish SPCA were called after a member of the public found the dog in the Seaton area of the city on June 3.
Officers discovered the decomposed body of a small black and tan female terrier-type dog.
It was wearing a pink collar but was not microchipped.
The animal charity said the dog appeared to have been dead “for some time” when it was found.
“At this stage, the circumstances surrounding her death are unknown,” a spokesperson said.
The SSPCA is urging anyone who can assist in identifying the dog to come forward.
It said in a statement: “The Scottish SPCA is asking the local community to come forward with any details that may assist in identifying the dog or establishing how she came to be in this condition.”
