A kayaker has died after his vessel capsized at a beauty spot at the weekend.
Police were called at around 4.45pm to the River Spey near Fochabers on Sunday.
Emergency services attended and the body of a 51-year-old man was recovered but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries are currently ongoing to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We were called around 4.45pm on Sunday, 17 July, to a report of a capsized kayak on the River Spey near Fochabers.
“Emergency services attended and a 51-year-old man was recovered from the water and pronounced dead at the scene.
“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”
