A body has been found by the Arbroath cliffs during the search for a missing Dundee man.
Alan Woodcock was last seen around mid-morning on Monday in the Osborne Place area of the city.
Detectives believed that the 76-year-old man travelled to Arbroath via Barry Buddon, Barry, and Carnoustie. A multi-agency search operation involving the coastguard was launched in a bid to trace him.
Officers discovered a body at around 12pm by the Arbroath cliffs on Tuesday. Formal identification has yet to take place, but the family of Mr Woodcock has been informed.
The death is being treated as unexplained, but there are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.
