A motorcylist has been left seriously injured after a crash between his bike and a car on the A96.

Emergency services were called to the Great Northern Road after the collision between a black Triumph motorcycle and a silver Toyota CHR car at around 6.55pm on Thursday.

The 35-year-old male rider of the motorbike was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries.

No one else was injured.

The A96 was closed while police carried out a collision investigation and re-opened at around 3.10am on Friday, September 30.

Constable Matthew Lawton, of the Road Policing Unit in Inverurie, said: “Our enquiries into this collision are ongoing and I would urge anyone with information to get in touch.

“We would be keen to speak to anyone who may have dashcam or other footage from the area around the time of the collision.

“Anyone with information can call police on 101, quoting reference 2847 of September 29.”
