A baby boy has died after falling ill at a property and being taken to hospital in Aberdeen.

Officers received reports that a one-month-old baby boy had fallen ill at a property on Tollohill Square in Aberdeen around 6.55am on Saturday, February, 3.

The baby was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment where he died a “short time” later.

Police have now launched an investigation into the “unexplained” death and confirmed that enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a one-month-old baby boy having taken unwell at a property on Tollohill Square in Aberdeen around 6.55am on Saturday, February, 3.

“The baby was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary where he died a short time later.

“The death is being treated as unexplained and enquiries are ongoing.”
