An office remains closed in Perth after being evacuated due to flooding and heavy rain.
The Aviva headquarters and a Lidl supermarket were evacuated on Monday after they flooded during heavy rainfall across Perth.
An Aviva spokesperson confirmed the office remained closed on Tuesday and is expected to open again next week.
The company said there has been no impact to customer service. Lidl reopened on Tuesday.
STV meteorologist Sean Batty said that two weeks’ worth of rain fell in the city in just one hour between 3pm and 4pm on Monday.
It comes after the Met Office issued a weather warning for thunderstorms which came into effect at 11am on Monday and is in force until 9pm.
Forecasters warned some areas could see downpours of up to 80mm – around two weeks’ worth of rain in a matter of hours.
An Aviva spokesperson said : “We can confirm that our Perth office remains closed due to some flooding yesterday afternoon. We expect the office to open again next week once we have restored operations.
“Our main priority is the safety and welfare of our employees. There is no impact to customer service. ”
