An appeal has been launched after a man was seriously injured in a one car crash on a residential Aberdeen street on Saturday morning.

At around 11.40am on October 21, emergency services were called to Craigbank Drive in the Cults area of the city after a crash involving a black Vauxhall Meriva.

A 49-year-old man was rushed to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary for treatment to serious injuries.

The road was closed to allow investigations to be carried out and re-opened around 4.45pm. 

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

Sergeant Eoin Maxwell from road policing said: “A man has been seriously injured as a result of this incident and it is vital we establish exactly what has happened. 

“I am appealing to anyone who was in Craigbank Drive this morning and saw anything which could be of relevance to our enquiries to get in touch. I would also urge any motorists with dash-cams to review their footage and come forward if they see anything of significance.“
