A man and a woman have been killed after a car crashed off the road and caught fire on the B914 in Fife.

Police were called to the Kelty to Saline road at Blairadam around 8.50pm on Sunday following the crash involving a white Mercedes AMG C43.

Emergency services attended and the man and woman were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended with two pumps and were stood down after 9.30pm.

The road remains closed for crash investigation work and enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, police said.

Inspector James Henry of Fife road policing said: “Our thoughts are with the family of the man and woman who died.

“An investigation is underway and we are appealing for information that could assist with our inquiries.

“If you were in the area at the time then please get in touch, particularly if you have dash-cam footage that could help.”

Kenny Barbour, local senior officer for Clackmannanshire, Fife and Stirling at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, said: “We were alerted at 8.49pm on Sunday to reports of a one-vehicle road traffic collision on B914 near to Kelty.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene and our crews worked closely with other emergency service partners to make the scene safe.

“Sadly, two occupants of the vehicle involved have passed away and our thoughts are with their families and friends at this difficult time.”
