An Aberdeenshire child has been taken to hospital after suffering a medical issue at school.
Emergency services were called to Aboyne Academy at around 11am on Tuesday after being alerted to the medical incident.
A Scottish Charity Air Ambulance was sent to support ambulance staff and was pictured near the school’s grounds.
Aberdeenshire Council confirmed the schoolchild was transferred by road to the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital for treatment.
An Aberdeenshire Council spokesperson said: “A pupil at Aboyne Academy required medical assistance this morning.
“The ambulance service, including the air ambulance, attended, and the pupil was transferred by road to hospital.”
A spokesperson from the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 10.58am to attend an incident on Bridgeview Road, Aboyne.
“We dispatched one ambulance and one air ambulance to the scene. One patient was transported to Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital.”
The Scottish Charity Air Ambulance has been contacted for comment.
