A bus service in Aberdeen is to be diverted after vehicles were vandalised and staff and passengers subjected to anti-social behaviour.
Stagecoach has issued several updates regarding its 727 service in recent weeks, with multiple incidents reported in Gough Burn Crescent near The Events Complex Aberdeen (TECA).
Buses were diverted away from the venue via the A96 on two occasions in August due to anti-social behaviour.
Stagecoach said a bus was damaged by people throwing stones on Sunday, September 27, while another vehicle’s window was smashed on Wednesday, October 14.
The operator has since confirmed that the service will no longer call at TECA between the hours of 6pm and 11pm, with the temporary measure to remain in place until Saturday, October 24.
On major event days, buses will serve P&J Live via Dyce Drive.
A Stagecoach spokesperson said: “The safety of our customers and employees is our absolute priority.
“Following incidents of anti-social behaviour, service 727 will not enter the TECA grounds between 6pm and 11pm for the remainder of the October school holidays.
“The 727 will continue to operate, and during major events at P&J Live buses will continue to serve the venue via Dyce Drive.
“We will keep the situation under review, with normal routing restored when it is safe to do so.”
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We are aware of anti-social behaviour and damage to vehicles in the East Burn Road area of Aberdeen.
“Enquiries remain ongoing and we are carrying out additional patrols in the area.
“Anyone with information or concerns is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.”
