A Stagecoach bus driver was taken to hospital, and a suspect was arrested following an assault on board a bus in Aberdeen

Emergency services were called to Aberdeen Bus Station at around 10.50am on Wednesday following reports of the incident.

Stagecoach confirmed one of its drivers was subjected to “aggressive behaviour from a customer” and sustained injuries.

Police charged a 45-year-old man in connection with the incident. He is due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday.

A Stagecoach North Scotland said: “We can confirm that an incident took place on board one of our services on arrival at Aberdeen bus station on Wednesday morning.

“Our driver was subjected to aggressive behaviour from a customer, and colleagues at the bus station acted quickly to assist and contact the emergency services.

“Our driver sustained injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment. The safety and well-being of our employees and customers is our absolute priority.

Officers have arrested a 39-year-old man in connection with the incident. An investigation is still ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 10.50am on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, officers were called to an assault on a bus at Aberdeen Bus Station.

“One man was taken to hospital for treatment.

“A 45-year-old man was arrested and charged in connection with the incident.

“He’s due to appear at Aberdeen Sheriff Court on Thursday, February 26.”
