A Scottish festival dedicated to celebrating the world of whisky will feature in Aberdeen this autumn, as part of an all-new Whisky Week.

The Scottish National Whisky Festival will take place at Aberdeen Music Hall on Saturday, September 14.

The inaugural event will cap off the city’s newly-established Whisky Week – a new celebration of the country’s national drink across seven days.

Running from September 5-15, the event will celebrate the water of life while putting whisky distilleries across Scotland in the spotlight.

Educating consumers about well-established and new brands, festival-goers will have the opportunity to sample hundreds of “incredible” whiskies from world-renowned distilleries & independent bottlers.

The festival will also feature live music and seminars from celebrated Scottish performers and industry experts in Music Hall’s Coda Cafe Bar.

From Gareth Croll, Festival co-ordinator: “Year on year, our event in Aberdeen has grown to become one of the standout editions in our series nationwide, so it’s exciting to be heading back even bigger this year.

“We can’t wait to see our friends in the city, old and new, and look forward to welcoming this year’s visitors.

“So come along on Saturday, 14 September and experience whisky from all around the globe – and as a special treat for this year’s edition we are also organising a special afterparty concert at local hotspot The Old Workshop from 9pm – free entry for all, everybody’s welcome! See you soon Aberdeen.”
