A hospital car park has been closed in Aberdeen following a fuel spillage.
NHS Grampian confirmed the multi-storey car park at Foresterhill, which is the site of the Aberdeen Royal Infirmary, the Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and the Aberdeen Maternity Hospital, has been shut to new arrivals after the incident on Tuesday.
The health board says efforts are being made to clear the spillage and that temporary lights are in place at the junction of Foresterhill Road and Ashgrove Road West, causing congestion.
A spokesperson said: “Following a fuel spillage, we have temporarily closed the multi-storey car park at Foresterhill to new arrivals. We apologise for any inconvenience; the facility will reopen as soon as the spillage is dealt with.
“Motorists should also be aware that temporary traffic lights at the junction of Foresterhill Road and Ashgrove Road West are leading to tailbacks in the area.
“We would encourage you to allow extra time when travelling to Foresterhill while the works are ongoing.”
