A man has been hospitalised after a collision involving two lorries and a car on a major road in Aberdeenshire.

Traffic Scotland confirmed that the A90 at Toll of Birness was closed in both directions due to the collision on Thursday morning.

Police confirmed that a 64-yrear-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

The latest update from Traffic Scotland at 6pm confirmed that the road was still closed in both directions as clear-up from the collision continues.

Officers remained on scene for all day to help with traffic management as clear-up after the crash continued.

Drivers have been advised to use alternative routes.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called to a road crash around 10.40am on A90 near Toll of Birness involving a two lorries and a car.

“Officers attended and a 64-year-old man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

“Recovery was arranged.”
