A9 road closed after 'man takes unwell' near Pitlochry

Part of the A9 has been forced to close after a man fell ill near Pitlochry.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the scene around 1pm on Thursday.

Drivers have been urged to avoid the area.

Images on social media show long queues of traffic backed up along the A9.

A police spokesperson said: “The A9 is closed at Pitlochry following a report of a man taken unwell.

“Emergency services are in attendance and road users are advised to avoid the area.”
