The A9 is closed in both directions following a crash near Kingussie.

The collision was reported at around 2.24pm on Saturday.

The Perth to Inverness road has been closed in both directions, and drivers are being advised to avoid the area until further notice.

Diversions are in place via Newtonmore for those heading south, and via the A86 for northbound traffic.

It’s the second crash on the road reported in as many days – on Friday, four people were taken to hospital after multiple cars were involved in a collision.

Officers were called to the scene on the A9 between Dalwhinnie and Newtonmore at around 2.50pm.
