A £40,000 bottle of whisky was among the goods stolen in a break-in at the luxury department store House of Bruar.

The robbery at the shop in Blair Atholl, near the Falls of Bruar, is believed to have happened between 4am and 5.10am on Saturday, November 23.

A number of “high-value” bottles of whisky were stolen, including a 54-year-old bottle of Highland Park, which retails at £39,000.

Police are urging anyone with information regarding the robbery to come forward.

Patrick Birkbeck, MD at House of Bruar said the business was working closely with police.

“Thanks to our security system and alarms, the theft was reduced in scale, and as the bottles have been taken without packaging, they are both very identifiable and will have reduced market value, which will make them very hard to resell,” he said.

“We hope that the work the police are doing alongside our security team will provide results.”

A spokesperson for Police Scotland said: “Officers are appealing to anyone who has any information or anyone who may have been asked to purchase bottles of whisky to contact them.

“If you have any information, please call 101, quoting incident number 0610 of November 23, 2024.

“Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where you can give information anonymously.”
