Two men threatened a post office worker with a weapon in an attempted robbery.

The incident happened at Summerhill Post Office in Aberdeen on Thursday afternoon.

The member of staff was uninjured but left shaken. No items were stolen.

The two suspects left the scene on a red motorbike and police are now appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

The incident happened at around 2.10pm.

Detective inspector Stewart Drummond said: "We are appealing for information from anyone who was in the Summerhill area yesterday afternoon who saw anything suspicious.

"Enquiries are at an early stage, however we believe there were two suspects and they left the scene on a red motorbike.

"If anyone saw two individuals on a red motorbike in the Summerhill area prior to the incident, or elsewhere in the city after the incident, I would ask them to contact us with any information they may have."
