A motorist has been taken to hospital following a one-vehicle crash in Aberdeenshire.

The incident happened on the Woggle Road between Westhill and Blackburn at 3.35pm on Wednesday. It is expected the road will remain closed for some time, with diversions in place via the B979.

The man was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance. His condition is unknown.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "A man has been taken by ambulance to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary following a one-vehicle collision on the Woggle Road between Westhill and Blackburn in Aberdeenshire.

"No further information is available at this time."
