Woman in hospital after car crashes into pharmacy

A woman is in hospital after a car crashed into a pharmacy in Inverness.

A large emergency services presence was called to the scene of the collision at Lochardil Pharmacy and Travel Centre on Morven Road at around 2pm on Wednesday.

A woman in her 60s was taken to Raigmore Hospital following the crash.

Images from the scene showed the car had crashed into the front of the shop and entered in.

The pharmacy said it was closed for the remainder of the day.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 2.20pm on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, we were called to a report of a car crashing into a building on Morven Road, Inverness.

“Emergency services attended and the female driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.

“There are no other reported injuries.

“Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.”

A spokesperson for the Scottish Ambulance Service said: “We received a call at 2.17pm on Wednesday to attend an incident on Morven Road in Inverness.

“We dispatched a number of resources to the scene, our first arriving within five minutes, and transported one female patient in her 60s to Raigmore Hospital.”

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.16pm on Wednesday, January 22, to reports of a vehicle driven into the front of a pharmacy in Morven Road, Inverness.

“Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene and one casualty was removed from the vehicle and passed into the care of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

“Crews left the scene after ensuring the area was made safe.”

A statement from the pharmacy read: “If you need anything urgently please call 01463 233295 (Riverside Pharmacy – they will signpost or advise from there)

“We shall update you as soon as possible. Apologies for the inconvenience this will cause.”
