A woman is in hospital with serious injuries after being airlifted to hospital following a crash in the Highlands.

Emergency services were called to the crash involving a black Volkswagen Golf and a pedestrian around 2.30pm on Sunday on the A82 at Bridge of Oich.

The 44-year-old female was airlifted to Raigmore Hospital for treatment for serious injuries.

The road was closed to allow for enquiries to be carried out and reopened around 8.30pm on Sunday.

Sergeant Chris Donaldson said: “Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are keen to speak to anyone who saw what happened and haven’t already spoken to officers.

“If you were driving in the area at the time, please also check any dash-cam footage you have and get in touch if you have captured anything that could assist with our investigation.”
