Vote for the names of twin snow leopard cubs in the Highlands

The public are being invited to help choose the names of twin snow leopard cubs born at Highland Wildlife Park.

Mum Pari gave birth to the twins in May and recently had their first health check, which confirmed they are a boy and a girl.

Now, the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland is inviting animal lovers to vote for one of three pairs of names inspired by the landscapes of their natural habitat in Central and South Asia.

Members of the public can vote for Indra and Tama, Tamur and Nura, or Annapurna and Tara.

Indra is a male Nepalese name, and Tama is one of the rivers that make up the Koshi river system. Tamur is a river in eastern Nepal, and Nura means light. Annapurna is a mountain in north-central Nepal, and Tara is Sanskrit for star.

Votes can be cast on Highland Wildlife Park’s Facebook and Instagram pages.

Voting closes on the evening of Monday, August 3, with the winning names due to be announced on August 4.
