Two teens charged in connection with throwing 'cat into water'

A 15-year-old and 16-year-old have been charged in connection with throwing a cat into water in Orkney.

Two teenagers have been charged after a cat was thrown into water in Orkney.

Emergency services were called after a video circulated online which appeared to show a cat being “thrown into water” in the Stromness area.

Two boys, aged 15 and 16, have been charged in connection with the incident.

A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.

A police statement read: “We were made aware of a video circulating online which appeared to show a cat being thrown into water in the Stromness area of Orkney.

“Two male youths, aged 15 and 16, have been charged in connection with the incident and a report surrounding the circumstances will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.

“We would like to thank the public for their assistance.”
