Two people have been taken to hospital following a collision on the A9.

Emergency services were called to the busy road near Dunbeath at around 5pm on Thursday after reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Police Scotland has confirmed that two people were taken to hospital, their condition is not known.

The A9 was closed in both directions, but it has since reopened.

An investigation is ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “The A9 has reopened at Dunbeath following a two-vehicle crash which was reported to us around 5pm on Thursday, December 4, 2025.

“Two people were taken to hospital for treatment and enquiries are ongoing.

“Motorists are thanked for their patience.”
