Two pedestrians, the driver of an SUV and its passenger are in hospital after a crash near a hotel in Loch Ness.
Officers were called to the A82 near the Loch Ness Clansman Hotel between Inverness and Drumnadrochit to a crash involving two pedestrians, a white Audi A3, and a blue Dacia Duster around midday on Thursday.
A 37-year-old man, one of the pedestrians, was taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment where his condition is described as “serious but stable”.
The other pedestrian, a 61-year-old man, and the 67-year-old male driver and 66-year-old female passenger of the Dacia, were also taken to hospital for assessment.
The road was closed to allow for crash investigations to be carried out and re-opened around 4.50pm.
Sergeant Calum MacAulay said: “Our enquiries are ongoing, and I am appealing for anyone who has any information to contact us.
“I would particularly appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time and who witnessed the crash or who has dash cam footage which may assist to get in touch.”
