Two men are in hospital and one has been arrested following a two-vehicle crash at a junction in the Highlands.

Officers were called to reports of a crash on the B817 at Station Road, Evanton at around 5.55pm on Wednesday.

Two men were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment and their condition remains unknown.

A 44-year-old man was arrested following the incident with road traffic offences and has been released pending further enquiries.

The B817 between Evanton and Skiach Services, Dingwall, was closed for around seven hours after the crash, and reopened at around 1am.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called to report of a two-vehicle crash on the B817, Station Road, Evanton at around 5.55pm on Wednesday, August 31.

“Emergency services attended and two men were taken to Raigmore Hospital in Inverness for treatment.

“A 44-year-old man was arrested in connection with road traffic offences and released pending further enquiries.”
