Two men have been charged and two motorcycles seized following complaints from residents in the Highlands.

Officers were patrolling in Caithness on Sunday following reports of off-road motorcycles being ridden in rural areas.

Two men, aged 38 and 42, were arrested and charged in connection with various road traffic offences near Thurso.

In addition, two motorcycles were seized for lack of insurance.

Sergeant Stephen Todd said: “Further activity will be carried out to address local concerns.

“I would urge people who wish to use off road motorcycles to do so responsibly and make sure their vehicles are legal and that they have permission from landowners if required.

“If we identify offences then you run the risk of being charged and your vehicle confiscated.

“If anyone has any concerns about the anti-social or criminal use of motorcycles, then please continue to report them using 101 or by speaking to one of our officers.”
