Two drivers are in hospital and a man has been arrested after a crash involving a van and SUV in the Highlands.

Road Policing officers are appealing for information following the collision on the A9 near Tomich which took place around 6.40am on Tuesday.

The crash involved a white Peugeot Bipper van and a grey Cupra Formentor.

The female driver of the car and the male driver of the van were both taken to Raigmore Hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

A 32-year-old man was arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and police say enquiries remain ongoing.

The road was closed for around five hours.

Sergeant Douglas Scott, from the Dingwall Road Policing Unit, said: “We are appealing for anyone who saw the incident take place and has yet to speak with police to come forward.

“We are also keen to speak with any motorists who were traveling on the A9 in the area around the time of the incident, and may have seen the vehicles involved.

“If you believe you can assist our enquiries, please call police on 101, quoting incident 0431 of January 21, 2025.”
