A trike rider has been taken to hospital with serious injuries following a crash near to Loch Ness.

Emergency services were called to the scene on the B851, near Dunmaglass, at around 3pm on Saturday.

The 74-year-old male rider of a Rewaco trike was taken to hospital for treatment after suffering serious injuries.

His passenger was uninjured.

Police have launched an appeal for information following the crash, and said they are keen to trace the driver of a Volkswagen Golf or Polo which was seen around the time of the incident.

Constable Andrew Mackenzie said: “Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding this crash.

“We are appealing to anyone who was driving in the area who may have seen the crash or has information or dash-cam footage which may assist. We are keen to trace the driver of a white Volkswagen Golf or Polo that was seen on the road around the time of the crash.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland through 101, quoting incident number 1880 of August 1.
