Three teenage boys die at scene of late-night crash

Three teenage boys have died following a one-car crash in the Highlands.

Emergency services were called to the incident involving a white Ford Fiesta on the A830 between Mallaig and Arisaig at around 11.15pm.

Three people, the driver and two passengers, were confirmed dead at the scene. 

Although formal identification has yet to take place, investigators believe they are all male and in their mid-teens.

The A830 was closed to allow for investigations to be carried out and re-opened around 11.55am on Friday, 12 hours after the crash.

Inspector Donnie MacKinnon said: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the people who died as a result of this crash. 

“Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances, and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash and hasn’t already spoken to officers to get in touch.

“I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area and who may have dash cam footage which could assist to contact us.”
