Three reindeer ‘guided’ a man off theCairngorm plateau along a less busy path at high altitude.
Mountain leader and photographer, Gary Hodgson, spotted the animals at 1000 metres high on the Cairngorm plateau.
He said: ” I filmed this video on Monday afternoon. It felt as if they were walking with me.”
Gary has over 35 yearsof experience in the Scottish hills all year round and this was not his first close encounter.
“I am certainly not a novice. I am a fully qualified mountain leader and when I am not guiding groups of people I am playing on the mountains.
“I come across the reindeer on a frequent basis.
“They are ‘semi wild’ and can roam for long distances, high up and away from lowland areas on the Cairngorms high ground.
“Because they are semi wild they are relatively used to people, the folk from Cairngorms Reindeer Centre regularly come up to feed them in a lower area, nearer Glenmore.”
